Mexican?

John called me yesterday when I was in town to say that he had found a Mexican restaurant. We both love Mexican food and have missed it since we have been here. John was so excited he called Ashby to see if he and Christine would want to eat there with us tonight. Ashby told him that they had eaten there before and weren't impressed.

Nevertheless, John and I decided to form our own opinion. Besides, even if the food wasn't that great, we could still have margaritas.

We did go there for dinner tonight. Not even the margaritas were good.

I'm beginning to think that only Mexicans make good Mexican food. And there are significantly more Mexicans in Georgia than there are in Norwich.

At least Sainsbury's has refried beans and salsa in their foreign food section and their own-brand flour tortillas are pretty good. If you want to try and make your own corn tortillas, a couple of the Indian food stores on Magdalen st have bags of Masa Harina. The instructions are on the side of the bag, all you do is add water, but the rolling out may be difficult without a tortilla press. You could mash them between 2 cutting boards? Anyway home made seems to be the only way to go for Mexican food in Norwich and anything resembling a maragarita, let alone a good one, is impossible. Good luck!

Thanks for the tip, Maude. I've been experimenting with making my own refried beans, but the corn tortillas sound like a fun experiment as well!
